Ways to Create Your Legacy with Pathfinders
Include Us in Your Estate Plans
As you update your estate plan, keep Pathfinders in mind as you think of the people and organizations that are important to you.
There are many ways to support Pathfinders with an estate gift including:
- Bequests through your will or trust.
- Beneficiary designations on bank accounts, life insurance policies, commercial annuities or retirement plans.
- Beneficiary designations on charitable remainder trusts or charitable lead trusts.
You can name Pathfinders to receive a set dollar amount or percentage of your assets through your will or trust by including a simple paragraph, such as:
I give $_______ to Pathfinders Milwaukee, Inc., 4200 N Holton St., Suite 400, Milwaukee, WI 53212 to be used for the area of greatest need within the organization.
– or –
I give _______ % of my estate to Pathfinders Milwaukee, Inc., 4200 N Holton St., Suite 400, Milwaukee, WI 53212 to be used for the area of greatest need within the organization.
Your financial or tax advisor can help you discover what type of legacy gift is right for you.
Make a Gift of Stock
Despite uncertainty and fluctuations in the market, many people still have stock in their portfolio that has appreciated in value since the time of purchase. Benefits of giving stock include charitable tax deductions and the ability to save cash for your future needs. Check with your financial advisor about making a gift of stock to Pathfinders.
Make a Gift of Retirement Assets
People over age 70 ½ can make a charitable gift from their IRA. These donations are called Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) and are an excellent way to make a significant gift to Pathfinders, fulfill your required minimum distribution and reduce your taxable income. You can also name Pathfinders as a beneficiary on your IRA or retirement plan.
